Would you sprinkle bits of plastic in your food? Would you feed it to your family?
If you use salt, you may already have.
National Geographic recently published an article on "microplastics in salt". It was a study done in partnership with Greenpeace.
They tested 39 big brand salts from all around the world (16 different countries). And they found that 36 (thirty-six!) brands of salt... out of 39 salts had "microplastics" in them.
That's 92% of the brands tested!
What's more --
They tested sea, lake and rock salt. It didn't matter. They were all tainted with "microplastics".
Now you may be wondering if ingesting "microplastic" is bad for you.
Now, as you may know...
John is a foodie and for the past several years, he's been selling super-healthful gourmet foods. So when he read about "microplastics in salt"... he freaked out a little.
You see, he sells a hand-harvested, unrefined sea salt (that's super delicious) called Colima Sea Salt... and John was worried his salt might have "microplastics" in it.
So he sent his salt to an American laboratory in California. You can imagine how anxious he was to get the lab results back.
Thankfully, his salt is 100% clean and clear of microplastics.
In case you're wondering, while Colima is technically "Sea Salt"... it comes from a brine that is pumped from a salt water aquifer near the sea... so it is technically a primordial salt (and has NO microplastics).
Which I'm glad for...
Because I use John's sea salt every day myself!
But that's not all...
The lab found something else in John's salt he didn't expect. The lab results came back testing positive for a mineral that two-thirds of Americans are deficient in!
In other words - his salt is even more healthful than previously thought!
I love John's salt. And these two bits of good news just makes it doubly awesome.
You might be surprised at what you discover about the salt that you're using right now.
