Did you know that “perfectly healthy” tomatoes may actually be TOXIC to your body?
It’s true (and that’s not all)…
Hot peppers, bell peppers, potatoes, eggplant and even goji berries (aren’t these delicious berries supposed to be a superfood?) may be silently wreaking havoc inside your body.
You see, these foods, known as "nightshades," contain alkaloids, which can be toxic. The majority of people can consume these particular nightshades without incident…
But for about 33% of the population, these foods can trigger pain and serious inflammation. And as you know, inflammation is the root cause of most chronic disease.
I'm sure you've heard the adage that, "One man's meat is another man's poison."
This is 100% accurate… and it’s why there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all “healthy diet.”
Let me give you another example…
Despite what most people would consider an exemplary organic diet, I personally struggled with some nagging health problems years back. After various tests, all signs were pointing to my thyroid.
And guess what… they are a number of so-called “superfoods” that could be detrimental to someone with a thyroid issue.
For example, did you know that broccoli, kale, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage and other “cruciferous” vegetables can interfere with the production of critical thyroid hormones?
Of course, this does not mean that these foods are inherently “bad”. In fact, they are well known cancer fighters and can provide numerous other health benefits. But for some people, they should be limited… or at least thoroughly cooked.
The truth is that each one of us is unique. Your perfect eating plan is exclusive to you. And it is up to you to discover what foods work for you… and which ones cause an unhealthy reaction.
Going gluten-free and dairy-free will only get you so far. And while allergy testing is an important step, it can often lead to false assumptions.
