Dear ,
Did you know that diet could play a major role in prostate health?
Research from the Duke Prostate Center suggests that a low-carb diet may help reduce some of the biological drivers that contribute to prostate-related discomfort.
In the study, researchers compared prostate tumor growth in 75 mice that were eating either a low-carbohydrate
diet, a low-fat but high-carbohydrate diet, or a Western diet that was both high in fat and carbohydrates.
At the end of the study, the scientists found that the mice on the low-carb diet lived the longest and had the smallest tumor size.
While both the low-carb and the low-fat mice had lower levels of insulin, only the low-carb mice had reduced levels of a type of hormone factor that is capable of stimulating tumor growth.
That’s one reason why
cutting back on refined carbs and focusing on real, nutrient-dense foods is such a powerful strategy.
Fill your plate with a variety of fresh, seasonal vegetables, complimented by wild seafood (NOT farm raised fish!) and grass fed meats which are naturally low in
insulin-elevating fast-carbs and packed with nutrients.
While carbs can fuel the problem, some foods may help fight it head-on.
And one food in particular has been widely studied for its role
in supporting prostate health: tomatoes.
In a study of over 47,000 men, those with the highest intake of lycopene—a powerful compound found mainly in tomatoes—had a 35% lower risk of prostate cancer and an even greater reduction in aggressive forms of the disease.
But lycopene does more than fight free radicals. It also helps reduce androgens and inflammatory cytokines—both of which are known to drive prostate growth.
To get the most benefit from lycopene, choose
cooked forms of tomatoes such as tomato paste or sauce, and pair them with healthy fats like olive oil to enhance absorption.
When you combine these smart food choices with a low-carb, anti-inflammatory approach, you create a powerful foundation for prostate health—one that starts on
your plate.
And if you’re looking for even more ways to support your prostate naturally, there’s a little-known compound that works synergistically with lycopene to reduce inflammation and support healthy flow.
